Business Analyst – Equities and Research recruitment
Currently our client is embarking on a multi-year transformation programme to create a new technology platform. Within this transformation programme many of the existing applications, particularity the equities asset class, migrated to the new platform over the coming months.
The Business Analyst role provides business analysis support to the Equity, Real Estate and the Investment Services business areas. This role will encompass working on a range of concepts, proposals projects and some business as usual activities spanning the research, portfolio management and trading functions.
This role will be critical to the success of a number of key programmes that will transform the landscape of applications supporting a number of investment management functions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Conduct requirements gathering and analysis
- Current process and gap analysis
- Provide continued analytical input to development projects throughout the development lifecycle
- QA / UATtesting
- Creation of BRD and testing documentation
- Communicating relevant, timely information on projects and issues to both business and systems colleagues
The successful candidate would be expected to have strong business analysis skills with a proven record of project participation and delivery, ideally gained within an investment management business. The ability to understand technical design and assess approach to rectify any issues encountered is also extremely important.
We are ideally looking for a candidate who has been involved in similar projects from inception, and as the Business Analyst you will need to provide input into the planning stage. The successful candidate will ideally have both a technical and business background and have strong equity product knowledge.
You will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:
- Business analysis experience within a front office environment
- Investment management experience highly desirable
- Strong understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Demonstrate an analytical and methodical approach to problem solving
- Ability to develop and maintain working relationships with business and systems stakeholders
- Strong customer awareness with the ability to manage customer expectations
- Self-motivation, positive attitude and adaptable approach are essential
- A passion for the detail
- Ability to work on a number of projects and tasks concurrently
- Demonstrate the ability to learn and quickly get familiar with a complex business and systems environment
- Exposure to equity trading, research and portfolio management functions a distinct advantage
- Excellent VB , Access and Excel skills
