Business Analyst – FATCA recruitment
Identifying new customers has a direct impact on client onboarding in the Investment Bank and there are currently no confirmed processes, policies or controls in place to ensure full compliance with the new legislation.
Critical success factor of this project is to ensure that client onboarding processes, systems, policies and procedures are compliant with the new regulations within the timeframes set by the regulators
The objectives of the project are to:
- Ensure compliance with the FATCA regulations in the Investment Bank’s client onboarding processes
- Raise awareness of the FATCA regulations amongst client onboarding stakeholders
- Analyse and determine required changes to onboarding systems, policies and procedures under the confirmed rules and regulations
- Implement required regulatory changes within the timeframes set by the regulators.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Working with the Program and Project Manager to map, develop and implement changes required by the FATCA regulatory reform rules
- Working with senior stakeholders / subject matter experts in the Firm to identify the impact of regulatory reform rules on existing onboarding data sources, business processes and systems
- Developing the onboarding requirements that are identified by subtopic owners
- Reviewing business requirements documentation with management and facilitating the approval process
- Managing and leading the implementation of required changes to onboarding systems, policies and procedures
- Analyse and understand the as-is onboarding operating model, including workflow, business processes, functional team and system landscape
- Training staff that is impacted by the required changes
- Supporting the coordination of client contact where required (e.g. for documentation, attestations or other)
- Providing regular status updates to the project manager, discussing progress on deliverables, and actively managing/escalating risks, issues, and dependencies
- Working with the technology team to design tactical and strategic technology solutions to support the regulatory requirements. This includes producing/reviewing detailed business requirements, workflows, wireframes and functional specifications
- Leading or supporting technology testing efforts. This includes the development of test scripts, UAT plans and management of defects and change request
Experience:
- Knowledge of the Investment Banking Industry
- Understanding of best practices within the Financial Services Sector and business process analysis
- Experience in the client onboarding space
- Proficiency with Microsoft Suite Applications including MS-Visio and MS-Project
- Experience with regulatory implementation projects.
- Superior analytical skills to support detailed business and technical requirements documentations
- Proven track record in business process mapping and redesign, including data analysis and manipulation
- Strong analytical writing skills and the ability to translate data into a format that drives decision making
- Ability to engage in multiple analyses simultaneously and critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources and reconcile conflicts
