Our client has a need for a Business Analyst II for a year long contracting opportunity in Pittsburgh, PA. The client is looking for someone with at least 7 years of IT experience, with a particular focus in data warehousing, reporting and financial modeling. Qualified candidates will meet the following requirements detailed below:
Description:
The job holder is responsible for the timely delivery of high quality data warehouse solutions, while ensuring compliance with company policies. S/he will be the business expert on data sourcing and reporting solution.
Requirements:
- 7 - 10 + years experience desired.
- Expertise with data warehousing and on requirements gathering process strongly desired.
- S/he should have in-depth knowledge of banking, finance and treasury functions, Basel III, liquidity reporting or Capital forecasting a plus.
- Experience working with gathering data to feed data warehouse and depth of understanding in data quality, data profiling and metadata is highly desirable.
Education, Experience and Skills Desired:
- A bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 7 years of IT experience with particular focus in data warehousing, reporting and financial modeling
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think out of the box
- Work with the Business team to understand and document requirements
- Proactively reach out to source systems to understand their data and be able to articulate our data needs
- Develop requirements for the data needs of the system
- Work with source systems to capture nuances in their system and processing environment
- Understand current technical architecture to turn business requirements into functional specifications
- Work with development team to understand requirements
- Document and execute test plans, cases and scripts
- Liaison with Enterprise Data Architecture group to define data model
- Excellent interpersonal skills; strong presentation and communication skills.
- Knowledge of relational database technology. (e.g., DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)
- Familiarity with Windows, Word, Excel and Access
- Experience with SQL development
- Strong data warehousing experience
- Knowledge of metadata, data quality and data profiling desired
- Experience with QRM, Bank Ware or like tool is desired
KEY TO THIS POSITION:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks / projects of different scope and complexity simultaneously
- Knowledge of big picture as well as detailed technical skills
- Understanding of Treasury data needs and reporting for Asset Liability Management (ALM), Liquidity, Basel III, Capital Forecasting, Cash flow analysis, FTP etc.
