Business Analyst / Project Manager

You'll need a sound background in financial services or consultancy for this lower managerial position, as well as a background in credit or market risk.

The FiRST programme launched late 2010 aiming to transform the Group Finance, Risk and Treasury systems to enable us to meet the significant challenges the industry faces in meeting statutory obligations. This will result in the ability to make timely, accurate and informed decisions in our markets, and manage our asset and liability positions efficiently and effectively. FiRST is one of the largest and most ambitious transformation programmes in the financial services industry. And is expected to be delivered over three years through a series of major releases with each release representing a large scale business change event for RBS.

FiRST Risk is the work stream delivering strategic business and technical architecture to support our aim to achieve AA grade status. The defining requirement is for a common technical architecture across Risk, Finance and Treasury verticals within the Group.

As a Business Analyst / Project Manager, you'll be a workstream lead with significant exposure to the PRA (Prudential Regulatory Authority) on a weekly basis and manage up to ten stakeholders. You will have responsibility for building solutions using the existing platforms, ensuring it ties in with the strategic platform. You'd also have responsibility for the design and development of customised reporting solutions across internal (strategic planning, risk appetite, economic capital, portfolio stress testing) and external (FSA, EBA, IMF, ICAAP, ILAA, FDSF, ratings agencies) data requirements. Additionally, you’re to be involved in the project delivery of the standing up strategic platform for stress testing input data feeds and related input data control processes. And you'll work with multiple consultancies and technology services to deliver required changes and assist in running steering committee(s) and other internal and external governance forums.

To succeed as a Business Analyst / Project Manager, it's important that you've a background in either financial services or consultancy, coupled with enterprise wide risk areas like economic capital stress testing data and have faced off to the regulators. You'll need excellent business or data analysis experience with project management rigour gained within a credit / operational / market risk environment. You'll also have experience of status reporting, phased delivery and management of programme issues and ideally have experience of risk transformation. And a broad understanding of banking products, including retail, corporate and financial markets products is highly desired.
