We are looking for a Senior Level 3 Business Architect with TOGAF, ITIL, Zachman and PowerDesigner experience. It is a 10-month contract with Ontario Government.

 

The Business Architect will provide multiple services and to work with a Project Program Manager/Lead and modernization project teams, providing advice and guidance in the development of the business and system requirements and procurement documents. The Business Architect will also assist the Project Program Manager/Leader with the development of project schedules, risk assessments, feasibility studies and cost estimates.  The Business Architect will conduct research on technology, trends, and innovative practices for this large, complex, multi-vendor, multi-stakeholder project and conduct jurisdictional reviews of comparable DVC modernization initiatives in North America.

 

The Business Architect will be responsible for producing / developing the required Business architecture artefacts and leading the Business and IT counterparts towards successful delivery at each project gate and relevant checkpoints. He/she will be part of the RUS Modernization project team and will work under directions from the project Chief Architect and IT Project Manager.

 

Deliverables

•         Business architecture artifacts required by the project that are consistent with business, data, technology and security architecture domains and meet the requirements for checkpoint reviews, RFP issuance and SOA governance

•         Detailed documentation conforming to Ministry standards including models, drawings, charts, business process documents and any other supporting material as required

•         System functional requirements to accommodate the integration between the Business and System architecture for the project

•         Satisfactory and timely resolution of any business architectural problems, issues or concerns

•         Participate as a Business Architect in multiple projects part of the RUSMOD Segment 1 deliverables

•         Participate in the Enterprise Architecture review process, by directing and developing conceptual, logical and physical artefacts

•         Ensure the project artefacts alignment with the Enterprise Architecture

•         Identify harmonization and reusability opportunities throughout the developed artefacts

•         Create the appropriate models in PowerDesigner, according to the RUSMOD established standards

 

Qualifications

•         Experience in guiding and assisting architectural planning, design and development of artefacts according to the Ontario Public Service (OPS)-approved methods and standards

•         Knowledge of architectural frameworks and standards (TOGAF, ITIL, ZACHMAN)

•         Experience in supporting the architecture governance process for the endorsement and approval of the checkpoints required of the gateway review, including all mandatory and optional artefacts and deliverables at the conceptual, logical and physical levels

•         Experience working part of an Enterprise Architecture team, in a functional or matrix organization, collaborating with other domain architects and other functional teams to deliver multiple highly inter-dependent projects, with conflicting priorities

•         Demonstrated experience in the modernization of large complex multi-platform, multi-tier Information Technology Systems.

•         Experience working in programs consisting of multiple highly inter-dependent projects.

•         Hands-on experience with PowerDesigner or a similar modelling tool

•         Knowledge of Ministry of Transportation and Service Ontario systems

•         Experience interacting and guiding internal and external system integration teams
