Business Development Analyst – Financial Product recruitment

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Financial Product Business Development Analyst will:

Evaluate new business opportunities (e.g., acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, minority investments, and internally developed products):
-Work with division heads/product managers to define business opportunities
-Estimate potential upside of opportunities (e.g., market assessment, NPV analysis, match with current customer needs, etc.)
-Build and own financial models, including valuation models, to evaluate potential opportunities
-Manage day to day due diligence on acquisition opportunities. Manage data rooms, deal log, and disclosure processes
-Work with business leadership on the articulation of key deal terms and MA drivers. Determine strategic and financial synergies and growth opportunities
-Assess range of competitive responses and impact on opportunity
-Make recommendations on appropriate courses of action including build/partner/buy recommendation or 'go/no go' decision
-Prepare presentations and communicate with senior management and business partners

Support the execution of priority initiatives with cross-business unit teams:
-Conduct industry and competitor research (e.g. reviewing third party research, interviewing analysts, creating competitor profiles), determine market structure and performance, and identify strategic gaps and opportunities for Bloomberg
-Coordinate logistics and communications between division heads/product managers
-Understand customer needs and product requirements
-Work with business managers to develop new charging/pricing models
-Assess business performance against objectives
-Create presentations for senior business unit leadership

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
*Undergraduate degree from a top-tier school, ideally in business, finance or economics

Experience:
*4-5 years of professional work experience, preferably at a top tier strategy consulting or investment banking firm
*Previous experience in financial services, information services, and technology required

Leadership Project Management Skills:
*Exceptional problem-solving, quantitative, and analytical skills; strategic and creative thinker
*Distinctive financial modeling skills and proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
*Exceptional attention to detail
*Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task across projects
*Solid business and financial acumen - understanding of fundamental principles of economics and finance
*Collegial orientation; relationship-builder who is solutions-oriented
*Accustomed to 'open door' office setting
*Exceptional written and oral communication skills are essential
