Role Description:
This is an opportunity to work with iShares: the world's most comprehensive family of exchange traded products with more than 240 exchange traded funds and exchange traded notes offered globally. The Core Wirehouse Channel is seeking a high energy, self-motivated Business Development Associate (BDA) to build and grow relationships with financial advisors inside the top four wirehouses. As a key contributor within a regional territory team, the BDA will serve as the strategic liaison in delivering iShares portfolio solutions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the territory's Business Development Officer (BDO) in the development and execution of a strategic business plan to generate iShares assets
- Develop, grow, and maintain advisor relationships to position investment ideas and other value-add services
- Serve as the primary lead within the territory team to deliver comprehensive and customized portfolio analysis to financial advisors, leveraging the iShares Product Investment Consulting group (iPIC)
- Utilize the telephone for lead identification, follow-up activity, client profiling, and sales execution
- Travel as needed to industry conferences and in-person client meetings
- Exceed the minimum call activity standards
- Develop and leverage key internal relationships to aid in delivering the iShares value proposition to advisors
- Use creative thinking to target clients and develop customized sales messaging/ideas
- Deliver sales presentations over the telephone on exchange traded funds
- Utilize CRM technology to capture sales activities and track the progress of sales opportunities for the territory
- Manage day-to-day operational duties (i.e. manage and track sales lead flow, manage and maintain existing and prospect client databases, report weekly activities and accomplishments, etc.)
Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree required
- CIMA or CFA preferred
- 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry
- NASD Series 7 and 66 (or 63 65) required
- High energy, motivated individual, committed to excellence
- Strong phone selling skills
- Exceptional presentation skills both on the phone and in-person
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced team environment
- Ability to analyze and speak to comprehensive portfolio and market data
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and CRM technology
- Strong character references
