Business Development Executive recruitment

My client is seeking an experienced, tech savvy Business Development Executive for a key role in their sales and client management team.

They are a leading provider of technology within the Australian lending and Financial Services industry and require a seasoned, sales focused and relationship driven BDM who will be responsible for ongoing client account management along with establishing key relationships within the industry. Reporting directly to the Sales Director, you will come with a track record of managing the end to end sales cycle for both prospective and existing clients.

Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Managing the end to end sales process on all relevant sale opportunities.
- Supporting the Sales Director in the development and execution of the annual sales plan, incorporating activity and sales targets for each budget period.
- Identifying sales opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
- Professionally promoting and presenting the company, brand and products positively to the industry.
- Ongoing Account Management – Post-sale opportunity and contact management including project communication and internal advocacy.

Key Selection Criteria:
- Minimum 5 years sales experience with a proven track record.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills – knowledge of “banker speak”.
- An ability and presence to prepare and present to all levels of clients.
- A track record of working both independently and as a team.
- The ability to manage client expectations and relationships.
- Tertiary qualifications in a related field.
- Experience in IT sales in a Financial Services environment will be highly regarded.

The ideal candidate will have an extensive existing network within the Banking and Financial Services industry along with a deep understanding of the operational, processing and technology requirements of the sector.

This role requires more than simply “selling a product”.

It requires an ability to manage relationships with existing clients, a knowledge of their business and understanding of how the technology can assist in making their process more efficient.
