Business Development Manager

Code Red Associates (CRA) is a leading supplier of Permanent Contract ICT resource to a variety of Blue Chip, SME growing organisations throughout the UK. We are currently recruiting for an established prestigious organisation that is looking to appoint a Sales Executive with experience of selling Business Information Management software solutions (Business Intelligence, Analytics, Performance Management) to the Education, Local Government or Not-for-Profit markets (Third Sector). The role has arisen as a result of on-going growth and they are looking to appoint a highly effective Business Development Manager to take a lead sales role in winning new business.

Day-to-day activities will include taking ownership for new business sales of a performance management software suite including sales lead accountability and the ownership of opportunities and pipeline. You will work closely with the marketing function creating campaigns to generate leads within the sector; you will plan and deliver demonstrations to prospects and partners; you will ensure all prospects are being handled in line with the organisations sales strategy; you will develop new opportunities in line with business capabilities and strengths; you will achieve against target; as well as participate in exhibitions trade shows; you will take part in regular sales progress meetings and you will remain commercially astute to market changes. The role is envisaged to be primarily business development with a small element of account management.

The suitable applicant will have demonstrable and successful track record in new business sales, will have a history of selling to senior decision makers (Business rather than IT), will have public sector sales experience (ideally to the education market), will have the ability to qualify and prioritise leads as well as the ability the generate opportunities through prospecting, networking and relationship building. You will have strong negotiation skills, excellent presentation, communication writing skills and generally be an outgoing, focussed and organised individual with a strong will to succeed. It is desirable that you have sold either Corporate Performance Management software (such as Covalent, InPhase Performance Plus, ClearView, Applaud Vestri, AspireView, CorVu, CACI, 360 Excelsis, Ten Performance Manager /or QPR, etc), Business Intelligence Software (Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Cognos, Infomaker, Hummingbird, etc) or Education Management software (such as such as Capita SIMS, Bromcom, RM, or similar).

Finally, you will be mobile with a full driving license as you must be able to travel to cover requirements across the UK, but must spend one/two days per week in the office in London.
