Category Manager - Beer JOB DESCRIPTION Primary Responsibilities: Define a 1-5 year Category Vision as it relates to Consumer Needs, Shopping Preferences and Trends Provide greater value to the consumer than competitors can (as measured by Neilson market share reports) Develop the go to market strategy for each category of responsibility. Align this with the timing of the annual planning process Identify, understand and provide a written evaluation (monthly) to the Vice President regarding the competitive marketplace via weekly store competitor and store visits 4 per written evaluation, with discussion regarding the following elements: Product variety Fixture presentation Color scheme Advertising (frequency, medium, price) Pricing Strategy Signing strategy Develop strategies for product assortment and prove versus competition Develop Private Label verify strategy in each category related to the primary competitor Scorecard vendor performance on a quarterly basis Prepare strategic annual planning with first half tactical plan with all suppliers First to market for new items and unique items Minimum expectations are that the Category Manager is excelling or at minimum showing progress in the following IDP criteria: Divergent Creative Thinking, Problem solving Decision making, Financial Quantitative Analytics, Planning, Personal organization and Time management, Written communication skills, presentation skills, Strong negotiating skills, Results driven, Delegating and controlling Necessary Skills Qualifications: College Degree required with over 8 years experience or 10-12 years related/practical business experience. Direct to Store Delivery experience is preferred Category management expereince dealing with the beer category Exceptional college record required JOB REQUIREMENTS Category Management
