Business / Lead Development Manager

SST is a mid-size, high growth software company with a small, dynamic marketing team. We are the world leader in gunfire detection and our ShotSpotter solution is the leading gunshot location and analysis technology and service in the world. PRIMARY OBJECTIVES:

 

The Lead DevelopmentManager is responsible for early qualification and nurturing of leads and sales prospects. This position is a critical part of the Marketing Team and also works closely with the Sales Team Management and Sales Directors to coordinate qualification of leads to increase the sales pipeline and ultimately to grow the company’s business. Outbound call campaigning, lead development and qualification experience is a must. Candidates must work comfortably in a call center environment with high volume and quality of calls, and must have a good working knowledge of Salesforce.com and general sales process. Understanding public sector entities and the public safety industry is valuable but NOT necessary. Experience in and with city and local government is valuable.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

 

·         Conducts telephone calls to prospects, including law enforcement agencies, local/state/federal government officials and staff, and community organizations and leadership to assess and qualify interest and other sales criteria in the ShotSpotter gunshot location and analysis service.

·         Further qualifies leads through detailed dialog with potential prospects.

·         Responds to inquiries made to the SST/ShotSpotter website, providing product information and qualifies prospective leads.

·         Responsible for initial follow-up with sales leads, which includes:

o        Identification of decision makers and responsible parties

o        Making contact with these individuals to gather information

o        Conducting a high level discussion of ShotSpotter solutions

o        Thorough follow-up and follow-through to schedule meetings and provide relevant information

·         Working as an integral part of the Marketing Team to build the sales pipeline, this position is tasked with nurturing leads who are not fully qualified and ready to be turned over to Sales Directors through regular contact.

·         Books and schedules qualified appointments for prospects with Sales Team.

·         Will also assist in promoting and scheduling appointments at tradeshows and industry events with prospective clients.

·         Assists in determining market demand and sales potential of our target market.

·         Must be able to research and locate information from a variety of sources including the internet and other research tools.
 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         BA/BS degree preferred.

·         5-7 years of marketing, lead development, business development and or sales experience.

·         Must be able to work independently with little direct supervision.

·         Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and tact.

·         Ability to coordinate own activities with others in order to achieve individual, team and organization goals. Positive, team-oriented approach required. Ability to adapt and accept difficult situations and tasks and to perform with the utmost professionalism.

·         Ability to plan and prioritize assigned activities in order to achieve task in a timely manner.

·         Must have interest in and ability to adhere to high quality standards.

·         Must be motivated to learn new skills and apply new solutions, and to make existing solutions more effective and efficient.

·         Excellent communication, written and oral, and interpersonal skills. Ability to identify and discuss complex issues and present workable solutions in a simple, meaningful, and focused manner. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills.

·         Must be persistent and pleasant.

·         Must be proficient with Microsoft Windows-based spreadsheet/word processing packages.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

·         Familiarity with local/city government, public sector, public safety industry is favorable BUT NOT required

·         Public safety agency or city/local government experience favorable BUT NOT required

·         A passion for public safety is required

·         Knowledge and proficiency with Salesforce.com

·         Lead generation/lead qualification experience
