The Senior Scheduler will develop, implement, and maintain detail schedules within a centralized planning/scheduling function on one or more larger projects. The Project Control Engineer/Specialist at this level is a fully qualified professional with solid experience, technical expertise, and familiarity with company policies and procedures to complete complicated tasks independently. Assignments require the use of a personal computer and a proficiency in using various Project Controls software such as Primavera and Excel, as well as other related applications. Provides guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems. May interface with clients, attend regular meetings, and give statistical reports. Analyzes, evaluates, and forecasts current status against an established baseline schedule. Assesses the impact(s) of design or construction changes and schedule slippages. Reports status of schedule to appropriate project and Company management, as well as to the client. Understands and applies engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships. Develops and maintains critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information. Customizes project control systems to meet specific project requirements. Accumulates and accesses historical data, such as performance experience, for use in maintaining a realistic basis for future planning and forecasting. May supervise one or more lower-level Project Control Engineer/Specialists and/or support personnel. Provides input to Chief or Principal Project Control Engineer/Specialist regarding staffing requirements. May provide input for performance review of subordinates. Qualifications 4-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management (or related field) and 5-10 years of related work experience. Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. This position is designed for an experienced Construction Scheduler with basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field. P6 or higher is a must. Construction specific scheduling required and piping is an additional plus. Position is located on construction site. There may be some OT as needed. No long distance travel required but some travel may be needed for short distances between construction site and main offices. DOE and EVMS experience preferred Proficient PC skills including a proficiency in various software used in the Project Controls Department, such as Excel and, Primavera. A basic understand of MS Project 2010 for the purposes of exporting/importing data from subcontractors Project schedules into Primavera is beneficial.
