Business Support Analyst – Murex recruitment

Job Summary

Our client is a leading global financial institution who offers a range of banking, investments and insurance services. They are looking for a candidate for Business Support Analyst (Murex) position who will be responsible for providing business and application support.

Mandatory Skill-set

The suitable candidate must possess:

- Must possess good degree or diploma in computer science or IT;
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in application support for front office or middle office;
- Hands on experience of working on Murex for FX Derivatives;
- Experience in extracting complex data from Oracle or from Sybase;
- Experience in UNIX, Perl, Shell scripting,
- Exposure to Excel/VBA;
- Has good written and oral English communication skills.
- Capable of prioritising multiple support issues to focus on the most critical;
- Should be a good team player.

Desired Skill-set

- Fixed income knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

The candidate will be part of a team primarily focusing on the provision of 2nd level application support to 7 trading rooms in NE and SE Asia. This position is a Support cum Business Analyst role and candidate will be responsible for:

- Understanding the need for and acting according to Banking and IT process and controls;
- Working with both local and remote colleagues;
- Continuous monitoring and rectification of application and its associated interfaces (both upstream downstream);
- Liaising with respective global teams for any major version release and ensuring that quick recovery / support is in place prior to these upgrades;
- Providing occasional late night support and weekend work;
- will be travelling occasionally to regional or global locations.
