Senior Specialist BSA

Position Description

The Business System Analyst (BSA) is accountable to work on projects related to the InterQual, Clear Coverage, and Clear Orders family of software products. The analyst will work closely and collaborate with the Product Owner/Product Manager to understand the business needs, and translate these into system requirements to ensure that the product vision and goals are met. The analyst will take ownership of features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and any additional requirements artifacts. The analyst is the key liaison between the Product Owner and the technology delivery group, is responsible for ensuring that the requirements are understood, and that the technology solutions meet the acceptance criteria. Experience with ASP or SAAS solutions and an understanding of software development using an Agile methodology is helpful.

1. Assists Product Owner/Product Management in the definition of high-level business requirements and the grooming of the product backlog. Participates in external customer demos and validation of features and user stories. 15%

2.Formulates functional requirements, and collaborate with software developers to research existing business and system processes. Leads and documents requirements definition sessions with business, clinical, and technical stakeholders to better understand functional, data, user interface, and non-functional requirements. Works within practices and policies for writing, updating, and managing requirements to ensure repeatable processes and delivery of value. 45%

3.Performs functional acceptance testing of development deliverables to verify they meet the business and functional requirements. Participates in release planning activities as scheduled. 25%

4. Leads internal training activities for members of the clinical, sales, and services teams including preparation of training materials and delivery of training. 10%

5. Identifies opportunities for improving quality and efficiency and participates in process improvement initiatives. 5%

Minimum Requirements

6+ years in healthcare, with a focus on utilization and care management. Experience with managed care, payor operations, and or provider operations is a plus.

6+ years in defining functionality requirements, building, and implementing business solutions using information technology.

4+ years in object oriented software design and development with JAVA and/or C# is desirable.

Leading one or more BSAs during requirement definition activities.

Mentoring of BSAs on new processes and or requirement gathering techniques.

Identifying and leading process improvement projects. Six Sigma accreditation a plus.

Leading cross department process improvement projects.

Proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Office, MS Visio, and SharePoint. Experience with Adobe Fireworks, Axure, and JIRA is a plus.

Education

4 year Degree in Software Engineering or Healthcare related field. MBA is a plus.
