This position formulates and defines data needs as they apply to the business needs and objectives through research and fact-finding for highly complex data projects. In this position, the Senior BSA gains an in-depth understanding of business systems and processes while implementing industry leading practices within the analysis profession. Partnering with LOB clients, this position's primary responsibilities are requirements planning, gathering, analyzing, organizing, and validation. This Senior BSA identifies and prioritizes activities independently and provides direction and/or assistance to less experienced Analysts. This Senior BSA is consulted in the most challenging situations and ensures that the final client solution is a quality product that meets business objectives and exceeds client expectations.
The Senior BSA participates in the design and creation of the business solution and completion of the technical design on highly complex data projects. Provides leadership on one or more highly complex data projects and mentors other BSAs on projects outside of their responsibility. Works directly with the client to articulate and document business/data requirements in order to identify and analyze gaps between current processes and the desired state.
Contributes to the acceptance of application and application enhancement via a formal test process. Leads formal requirement reviews to obtain document signoffs and review plans, risks, issues, defects, and dependencies identified during requirements gathering.
Must have:
-Experience translating business requirements to analytic requirements
-Experience identifying data points, mapping data and data integration
-Experience working within a defined requirements process
-Experience in gathering business requirements and translating into technical analytic requirements and associated design
-Experience in working with highly technical teams to deliver robust data warehousing and business intelligence solutions
-Experience in driving end to end data warehouse development lifecycle highly preferred
-Experience leading practices in documenting and prioritizing requirements with the project team members and project stakeholders.
-Independently develops project charter, requirements specification, requirements matrix, use and test case documents to meet users' needs.
-Experience leading practices in determining participants, gathering techniques, documentation techniques, modeling and analysis techniques, and selecting appropriate tools for requirements gathering. Conducts and analyzes preliminary business and information technology processes.
-Experience leading practices when validating business requirements, acceptance criteria, and traceability with the team and project stakeholders. Independently develops prototypes at the requirements stage to firm up and validate requirements.
-Bachelor's degree and 8+ years progressive work related experience with demonstrated proficiency and understanding in one or more functions related to the position.
Nice to have:
-Knowledge of Ab Initio, Oracle or DB2, and Cognos platform architectures
-Experience in the banking industry
