The Legal Aid Society is seeking a BusinessObjects Developer.  In this role, you will report to the Applications Development Manager within our MIS Department, and the purpose of this position is to facilitate the reporting process for the entire Society based upon LawManager data (the new Society-wide Case Management System).  You will also help with the process of review and design of the numerous statistical and administrative reports.  The reports will be used by system users from all practice areas, as well as management.

  

Key responsibilities include: assisting with the review process for the numerous reports that are used by Legal Aid staff in Civil, Criminal and Juvenile Practices; participating in the design and development of the report specifications and functional report descriptions; using BusinessObjects Web Intelligence and existing BO universes for the reports development and maintenance; identifying and researching data inconsistency issues and working with business partners to resolve and improve the data flow; and maintaining several report developments concurrently together with meeting separate deadlines.

 

The ideal candidate must: possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and have the capacity to be trained and fully grasp the business practice and the rules that apply to the LawManager environment; be able to obtain a basic understanding of the LawManager database schema; have the ability to understand and follow established business and legal procedures within practice areas in order to expedite the data review process so as to help the Society staff to serve their clients; possess 2-5 years experience in report development, deployment, maintenance and data analysis using BusinessObjects Web Intelligence; prior SQL coding experience is strongly preferred; knowledge of scripting languages as VBScript, Jscript, etc. is a plus; excellent attention to detail and the ability to deliver on time; ability to work collaboratively while providing valuable creative input; excellent knowledge transfer and strong communication skills.
