C#.Net Development Lead recruitment
In order to capitalize on recent trends in the Soft Dollar/Commission and profitability businesses, Bank of America Merrill Lynch has formed a key unit. This business unit is known as Global Commission Management (GCM). This includes wide ranging functions reaching globally and firm wide. Functions include, Soft Dollar/Commission and CSAs, Directed Business, Step In/Out and Give Up/In, Profitability and Exchange Costs. This team, working directly with technology, is moving away from the existing multi regional model to the new global model. The team has been tasked with developing the new global solution whilst supporting all the current business and system flows.
The successful candidate will be an active member of the global development team working on the new GCM platform and maintaining the existing applications. They will have a proven track record in application design and development, as well as acting as a trusted advisor to the team on in depth technical decisions (both in specific detail and holistically).
The server-side platform is .Net (C#) backed by and Oracle database while the front end implementation is primarily ASP.Net (C#), AJAX and JavaScript.
This role, based in our Camberley office, will involve designing and developing .Net applications using a wide range of technologies, including but not limited to, ASP.Net, Ajax, web and Windows services. This will include implementing business logic, internal and external web front ends and interfaces to other systems (both internal and external to Bank of America).
The successful candidate will work closely with our Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and QA team and involve in a full spectrum of the development cycle.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Work as part of the global development team.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the team on technical issues.
- Define and drive the technical direction for the team.
- Design and develop enterprise-level n-tier applications.
- Diagnose and resolve application defects identified in QA and production.
- Provide support on assigned applications / projects
- Liaise with project managers, business / end users, analysts, developers and QA on a routine basis.
- Coach/mentor junior programmers as needed.
- Lead and coordinate on assigned technical tasks as required
The skills required for this role are:
- Object-Oriented Design and Development
- .Net Framework (1.1 – 4.0)
- C#/ASP.Net
- AJAX (Microsoft Ajax Toolkit desired)
- PL/SQL
- Subversion or other source control systems
- GUI design experience
- XML, XSLT
- Test-Driven Development (NUnit)
- Experience and interest in leading technical initiatives
- Good understanding of the SDLC
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Ability and willingness to work in a global fast-paced environment
- Flexible / ability to adapt working style to meet objectives
Desired Skills:
- DB Design / Modeling
- Oracle PL/SQL or other relational database
- IBM MQ (or other messaging solution) and its usage on .Net
- Experience and/or knowledge in Capital Markets
