C++ support analyst developer

A fixed income brokerage is looking for a strong C++ developer to join their team to develop and support within their technology division.

They will be part of the support team who are responsible for the provision of extremely high levels of availability for the production and test systems to the dealers, sales staff and internal users.

The successful candidate will come from an excellent educational background, with a proven track record in C++, multi-threading development (ideally Microsoft visual C++), experience with navigating large code base, strong experience with socket level programming and use of TCP/IP. Ideally the relationship database experience will be in MS SQL.

Main responsibilities

• Installation of new product releases onto production, test and demo systems.

• Develop production monitoring tools.

• Support the dealer community in the production and test environments

• Support of sales staff using the demo system

• Implementation and documentation of support procedures

• When not providing support, the team will have the opportunity to develop enhancements for existing products; close liaison with the other external offices will be required.

Essential Skills / Experience:

• Proven C++ experience is essential (ideally Microsoft Visual C++)

• Numerate University degree

• Working experience developing enterprise multi-user, real time systems

• A quick learner: able to understand and debug existing enterprise systems

• Clear, concise, and effective oral and written communicator who engages in active dialog

• Pragmatic approach to problem solving

• Proven team player, with the ability to work within a distributed team environment.

Strongly preferred:

• Experience with SQL, Windows operating system and scripting such as perl shell.

• Experience working in the financial industry.

• Understanding of financial assets, especially fixed income products.
