Description

Key Role:
Provide support to a government client by preparing engineering drawings using CADD tools, developing and writing project specifications and technical reports, preparing design and construction cost estimates, designing, drafting, and laying out projects, specifying technical devices, parts, equipment, and facilities components, and assimilating redline drawings into master CADD files and manage CADD files to ensure accuracy and consistency. Conduct space audits, provide drafting services with the use of Auto-CAD, and assist with designing and drafting space solutions. Serve as the workflow gatekeeper to ensure timely facility services and assist the facilities manager, as necessary, to ensure a safe and healthy work environment. Maintain the facilities management tools by reviewing and introducing changes based on requirements and by applying industry trends, emerging technologies and standards, and new vendor offerings. Collaborate with technical and application teams to identify, evaluate, and recommend technical solutions to support project and systems requirements. This position is located in Central Maryland.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
-3+ years of experience with facilities design or project management
-Experience with budgeting, planning, scheduling, and contracting
-Knowledge of using automated design systems and tools, including AutoCad and Archibus
-Knowledge of Computer Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) and facilities space management computer software systems, organizations, and operations
-Knowledge of the areas of facilities construction, renovation, and life-cycle maintenance projects
-Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate after-hours, holiday, and weekend work schedules
-Ability to create or modify engineering plans, drawings, or schematics and independently design facilities projects and systems, including electrical power, chilled water distribution, HVAC, sprinklers, fire protection, architectural, structural, and furniture layouts
-TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
-HS diploma or GED and 6+ years of experience with facilities design, or AS degree and 4+ years of experience with facilities design, or BA or BS degree and 2+ years of experience with facilities design

Additional Qualifications:
-Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, towers, and catwalks
-Ability to move heavy objects as necessary, using aids including hand trucks, dollies, carts, and pallet jacks
-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
-Possession of excellent people skills
-BA or BS degree in Construction, Architecture, EE, ME, Interior Design, or a related field
