Our Client is an independent investment manager specializing in insurance-related investments including insurance-linked securities (ILS), insurance debt and going forward, equity and private equity. Current investments under management USD 2.5bn.
Clients are major institutional investors across Europe and the team consists of industry experts with an outstanding track record.
An opportunity has now arisen for an experienced insurance capital markets and structuring specialist to work within the sourcing team. The successful candidate will fulfil the following criteria:
Main responsibilities
· Undertaking all aspects of deal acquisition and overseeing the due diligence process for the provision of capital to smaller and mid-cap (re)insurers principally in the European and/or North American markets
· Structuring of transactions
· Liaison with clients established network within the banking and hedge fund industries, together with global network of reinsurance brokers and clients, for the sourcing of new opportunities (willingness to travel overseas a necessity)
· Developing and maintaining a diverse pipeline of deals
· Undertaking the triage and planning process for debt transactions
· Liaison with the credit, legal, processing and investment management teams to ensure the smooth flow of transactions through all company processes
Main qualifications
· Strong graduate level education in a relevant analytical or economics related subject
· 5+ years working within a relevant role in the field of insurance capital market transactions (investment banking or similar)and proven track record of successful deal completion
· Well-developed own network of industry contacts
· Capability to analyse complex scenarios and solve problems
· Capability for independent working and handling of projects
· Team player with an entrepreneurial attitude, comfortable with change
· Ability to work across, and coordinate, multiple areas and functions of a company
· Strong communication skills and ability to represent the company to external clients
