Cash Equities Operations

Responsibilities

· Manage the day to day operation of the Cash Equities department, ensuring that the correct controls, checks and procedures are in place to ensure that client is not exposed to risk, escalating any issues to Senior Management.

· Ensure that new initiatives are successfully implemented into Cash Equities department, ensuring that relevant checklists and procedures are established and staff trained.

· Provide expert knowledge to Project teams and commercial initiatives including reviewing and providing input into Project documentation.

· Demonstrate expert knowledge of all delivery procedures and processes across all cleared trade sources.

· Ensure Cash Equities department follows correct Incident Management processes and procedures.

· Manage and agree staff performance objectives and development plans. To plan and encourage staff personal development, recommending and arranging for training where appropriate. To conduct annual and interim Performance Management Reviews, including accessing performance and identifying training requirements.

· Demonstrate excellent knowledge of Operational Procedures Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with Trade Sources, Central Securities Depositories (CSDs) and other third parties.

· Ensure that Operational Procedures and SLA’s are regularly reviewed and updated.

· Ensure corporate events are monitored and processed within given timeframes ensuring that contacts are adjusted accordingly.

· Maintain knowledge of market initiatives and assess the impact on the Equities area, escalating to Director or Commercial Services where necessary.

Person Specification

· Good knowledge of UK and pan European Cash Equity markets.

· Good knowledge of the UK and at least one other pan European Central Security Depository (CSDs)

· Good understanding of corporate events, including corporate action processing at the CSDs.

· Good knowledge of SWIFT messaging.

· Consummate communicator, good facilitation skills, organized, able to prioritise and delegate.

· Knowledge of CFDs is desirable.

· Strong problem solving skill set.

· Ability to influence others outside of direct control.

· Strong leadership and management capability.

· Ability to define and provide detailed business requirements.

· Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a team

· Ability to use own initiative and of a pro-active nature.

· Be available for an on-call rota.

· Maintain knowledge of market initiatives (e.g T2S, EMIR), assess the impact on the Cash Equities business.
