Cash Equity Operations Senior Manager
General Responsibilities:
- To manage Cash Equity Operations armed with a deep understanding of the technical, business, systemic and operational aspects of the process to be able to function as a senior reference point for the team and business alike.
- Lead a team of Managers and/or AMOs who have 8-14 direct reports with overall responsibilities for performance management, career development and succession planning.
- Deputise the Product Regional Head when required
- To ensure the provision of a high quality and accessible service to the business, and both internal / external clients
- Act as a senior point of escalation for operational issues within the team and be able to communicate, address, and resolve issues with the relevant areas in a timely manner.
- Accountable for the escalation of all problems/risk issues within their area to the respective stakeholders and the appropriate levels of management.
- Engage global business partners at a senior level in dialogue around the definition, implementation execution of the product’s operational strategy – Global Market Alignment, Target Operating Model, Target Off-shoring Model, Infrastructure Strategy etc.
- Benchmarked against and accountable for target deliverables, lead innovation and change within their respective areas and to inculcate a positive environment where team members feel encouraged to contribute and drive improvements within the process.
- Organise, coordinate and champion departmental and centre initiatives aimed at improving work-life balance.
- In partnership with the department heads and peer AVP group, contribute towards building a robust succession plan within the wider Securities Operations and ensure the absence of key person dependencies.
Operational, Controls Reporting:
- Accountable for improving process KRIs, KPIs and bright lines through the efficient use of tactical and strategical solutions, benchmarked against annual operational targets.
- Ensure all operational controls are observed by the team and where the opportunity exists, improved to reduce overall risk exposure within the process.
- Ensure that all reporting requirements applicable to their role/teams are completed in a timely manner and to a high standard.
- Maintains internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators. (and ensures the same in others)
- Implement and ensure adherence to the Group Privacy, Control and Compliance Policies, applicable to their role. (and ensures the same in others)
- Adhere to the group requirement that each employee is aware of the Operational Risk scenarios associated with their role and to ensure that all actions during their employment with take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.
- Understand and ensure compliance to all relevant internal and external governance, regulations and procedures that apply to the process and business. (and ensures the same in others)
