Cash Equity Settlements – Fails Management recruitment
The position sits within their Cash Equities Middle Office team where the analyst will be an integral member of the Middle Office working in the Pre-Matching and Fails team providing post booking/pre settlement support for the Electronic, Programs and Single Stock business and their clients.
The successful candidate will build strong relationships with External clients, Front office, Sales Support, Trade Support, Settlements, IT and other operational teams and will have the opportunity to receive a varied array of training across different functions to encompass the full trade life-cycle and an excellent appreciation of risk and control.
Main Duties:
- Understand and perform the pre-matching process for Electronic, Programs and the Single stock equities trades in all markets.
- Work from reports out of the in-house system prioritising workload weighing up risk by market, value, cut offs and client.
- Extensive liaison with clients middle office and settlements contacts globally to agree trade details for unmatched trades.
- Constant interaction with Front office, ensuring that all issues and potential risks are escalated
- Fast turnaround and escalation on potential risk/ Buy-in items.
- Investigate any discrepancies or unknown trades. Liaising with the front office, settlements and the client to get to resolution.
- Monitor group mailbox for client/settlement queries.
- Generate cash breaks reports for US and investigate and resolve.
- Work with Corporate actions to ensure visibility and help resolve settlement issues as a result of CA events.
- Input into requirements and actively work on new initiatives and projects to improve process, increase STP and prioritisation to maximise settlement rates.
- Produce MIS reports for senior management in MO and FO.
- Ensure that all procedures are mapped and appropriate controls are in place for manual processes.
Person Requirements:
- Excellent service level when representing the firm in dealing with client base.
- Expert understanding and experience of equity settlements process, buy-in rules and market nuances.
- Ability to work under pressure, to prioritise tasks according to risk, and escalate in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Good analytical, problem solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail results orientated.
- Ability to build rapport with the front office and other internal stake holders.
- Competent technical skills, intermediate to advanced Excel or Visual Basic skills .
- Proactive approach looking to enhance processes and procedures.
