Cargill Beef has an opportunity for a Cattle Procurement Manager position located in Amarillo, TX area . This position will be responsible for the purchasing of mature cattle to be harvested in one of Cargill's fed cattle facilities, primarily Plainview, TX. This position will also serve as the field representative for the region that supplies mature cattle to Plainview, TX. Principal Accountabilities: 10% - Evaluate mature cattle at sale barns and auction house for purchase 50% - Manage order buyers, salary buyers, and rail orders. 10% - Develop relationship with scheduling and plant operations. 10% - Analyze harvest performance, by supplier, by representative. Develop procurement summary/ buyer analysis. 20% - Develop relationships with producers/suppliers throughout the buying region (Eastern New Mexico, Panhandle Texas, South Texas, and Colorado) Skills: Required: 10 years Mature cattle buying experience or relevant Fed Cattle buying experience. Plant process knowledge Strong understanding of the Beef Value based supply chain Animal Welfare and Animal Handling training or relevant work experience. Understanding of the Cattle procurement payment methods Preferred: Bachelors degree in Agriculture (ie: Animal Science, Agribusiness or like degree) Management experience of raw material cost Quick thinker, Strong Communication skills, multitasking ability.
