Central Bank and International Account Services Analyst

Central Bank and International Accounts Services (CBIAS) executes the Federal Reserve System's (FRS) responsibilities as custodian and banker for the world's community of central banks and international financial institutions, including the FRS' System Open Market Account (SOMA). Comprised of six business areas, CBIAS fulfills a range of responsibilities in helping to manage over $3 trillion in dollar reserve portfolios for over 400 accounts across 250 foreign central banks and international agencies with transaction volume presently exceeding $150 billion per day. Critical core services include custodial services, clearing and settlement services, and cash management and investment services. CBIAS maintains fully-staffed continuous operations in the Bank's New York and Richmond, VA locations.

The Customer Account Services (CAS) staff within CBIAS is one of the principal customer-facing units in the CBIAS enterprise. CAS has a wide mandate, responsible for managing relationships with foreign central bank customers, managing and administering legal agreements to that customer base, and developing service policies.

Responsibilities

CAS seeks an analyst located in Richmond, Virginia to execute its core activities related to managing CBIAS' relationships with foreign and international account-holders,
and to contribute to a variety of project endeavors particularly in the area of service and business process improvement. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and draw upon a broad understanding of CBIAS' business activities, and CBIAS' role within the Federal Reserve System and the international official community. Core responsibilities associated with the position are likely to include:

· Participate in the development and roll-out of new services, legal agreements and customer publications

· Prepare customer profiles that include analysis of customer relationships, and economic and financial developments that may affect customers' reserve holdings

· Assist in the management of CBIAS' web presence, including overseeing the design, content and technical enhancements to its on-line banking system and customer information website

· Respond to customer inquiries on a variety of topics in coordination with other CBIAS subject matter specialists

· Conduct various customer account and administration activities, including administering account opening and maintenance procedures and secure telecommunications protocols

· Coordinate delivery of certain specialized account services, including currency and gold transactions

· Periodic travel required between Richmond and NY locations

Qualifications:
Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in business, economics, international affairs or a related area

· Strong academic record and one to three years of relevant work experience or equivalent preferable; strong relationship management skills, with experience in a client-servicing role a plus

· Strong analytical and writing skills

· Ability to analyze and respond appropriately to sensitive customer matters, reach sound conclusions considering varying stakeholder interests, and respond in timely ways under pressure

· Experience in developing and managing external website content a plus

· Strong Microsoft Excel, Access, Sharepoint, SQL or programming experience desirable

· Strong personal and professional interest in international relations and knowledge of foreign geography and current events encouraged

This position requires access to Federal Open Market Committee Data, which is limited to "Protected Individuals" as defined in the U.S. federal immigration law. Protected Individuals include, but are not limited to, U.S. citizens, U.S. nationals, U.S. permanent residents who are not yet eligible to apply for naturalization, and U.S. permanent residents who have applied for naturalization within six months of being eligible to do so.
