CFO, Private Bank recruitment

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CFO to be an Integral member of Private Bank Management Committee, responsible for the financial integrity of the Private Bank and for ensuring a robust framework to enable fact based decision-making.

The Position

• Enabling insightful business information highlighting trends, opportunities and risks to performance

• Ensure end to end ownership of all matters impacting financial performance (particularly high value items) and reinforcing financial discipline across costs and investments

• Developing meaningful correlation of performance to competitive environment peer group performance

• Partnering with business for planning and analysis activities such as board papers, annual reviews, forecasting, budgeting, etc and on initiatives driving cost saves, profitability and liquidity

• Develop, evaluate and execute strategic initiatives such as acquisitions, restructuring / closure, investing in new markets, acquiring teams from competitors etc

• Enabling actionable business information through robust profitability analysis of Relationship Managers Clients

• Being proactive in addressing processes and controls across Finance MIS

• Defining data standards and controls on PB Reporting

• Driving and implementing transfer pricing for cross border initiatives

• Developing appropriate accounting guidelines for PB specialized products

• Assessing the impact of proposed business activities on the performance of the Group

• Contributes to the financial integrity of the Private Bank and for ensuring a robust framework to enable fact based decision

• Influencing decisions and challenging issues, providing judgment and assessment of impact of proposed activities on short term and long term performance.

• Streamlining Finance and MIS capability across PB to deliver more timely, accurate and relevant data to drive business performance

• Identifying business opportunities and making recommendations

• Identifying trends, providing effective solutions and advice to business units

• Identifying cost efficient solutions to provide financial management information which will support a dynamic business environment

• Complexity of role arises because it deals with the full range of business activities infrastructure in a global/regional context which is at different stages of development.

The Candidate

• A qualified accountant with over 15 years experience in a finance role within a bank, with at least 5 years experience in a senior finance leadership role (Private Banking / Wealth Management experience preferred)

• Strong analytical and technical finance background with familiarity of regulatory, tax and accounting for broad spectrum of products and geographies

• An eye for detail and strong sense of need to uphold integrity of financial information with ability to identify control weaknesses and implement procedures to enhance controls.

• Strong networking and interpersonal skills, forming positive working relationship in a matrix management and multicultural environment

• A strong communicator with excellent written and oral communication skills and experience of effective management of senior stakeholders

• Excellent people leadership capabilities, ability to effectively balance conflicting demands from business and to provide leadership and prioritization to team

• Comfortable with change, demonstrable experience of continuous improvement, project implementation and re-engineering initiatives
