CFO/Group Accountant

Reporting to the CEO, this is an exciting Sydney CBD based role with a global outlook. This role will lead the firm’s finance and support functions including a small team of finance professionals.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced accountant who enjoys variety, takes responsibility, and wants to be an integral member of our management team. Your key accountabilities and responsibilities would include:
- Review month end accounting tasks including the reviewing of budgets
- Preparation and review of monthly reporting and schedules including (Profit Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow and Sales)
- Present monthly results to the CEO and other senior management
- Responsible for Operational Reports (Monthly Flash Report, Monthly Business Unit Report, Quarterly Business Review, Bi-monthly Board of Directors Report)
- Audit - Assist with all BAS, Quarterly, Year-End and Ad hoc Audits
- Manage the firm’s compliance and regulatory issues
- Group HR functions
Our accounts are audited and we also have offices in Hong Kong, London, New York and Beijing. You would be working with a world class team of commercial analysts who are geologists, metallurgists, mining and civil engineers, economists, accountants and software engineers.
Skills Experience Required
- CA/CPA qualified
- 7-10+ years of management accounting experience
- Experience in multinational tax and accounting affairs
- Knowledge of tax implications for an international company like AME
- People and process management experience
- HR, OHS, IR knowledge
- Strong negotiation skills
- Exceptional communication skills
- A pragmatic and commercial approach to business
- ‘Big 4’ experience well regarded but not essential
As an integral part of the management team you will be required to maintain an excellent relationship with the various business units, and ensure continuous communication with senior management.
