CFS CSOL Fixed Interest / Managed Investments Administrator
A great opportunity has become available to join the Custody team, as a Fixed Interest Administrator, within Colonial First State Customer Solutions, based in Hawthorn, Victoria. Based on your performance, you can expect to progress to the Managed Investments team in your second year.
The role is quite challenging, and though the position title may indicate 'administrative' level duties, the role actually requires a high level of analysis, understanding of processes, and reconciliations, to ensure trades have occurred correctly. Your core duties will include verifying client instructions, allocating investments on the platform, instructing counterparties of appropriate actions, and completing position reconciliations on a regular basis. You will also be trained over time in other tasks, including daily managed funds reconciliations, allocating managed fund income, unlisted investment reconciliations and trading. As a further plus to this role, you will work Advisers to handle queries and resolve issues.
The Custody team is an evolving and growing area within the business, offering new opportunities for team members to learn and develop their careers. In a nutshell, the two teams, Managed Funds and Fixed Interest, are responsible for processing managed funds, unlisted funds and term deposit transactions on behalf of financial advisers. In addition the team also processes all income distributions and year end tax statement information received from Investment Managers.
To be successful in this role, first and foremost, you enjoy digging down in to the detail, to check that the figures are right and the processes have been followed. Advanced Excel skills are also required, including V-Look ups, pivot tables etc, and some exposure to macro's would be desirable, but can be taught. Confidence in communicating with a variety of stakeholders is just as important, and we are also looking for someone with a strong customer service ethic, efficient organisational skills and the ability to be an effective team player. Previous experience within the Custody or Wrap Platform industry would be preferred. You will need to enjoy working in a quick paced and high volume environment to succeed in this role.
