ROLE SUMMARY:

The role is for a Product Control Change SME within Rates, FX and Emerging Markets

PC Change Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are responsible for applying their expert knowledge to support project delivery and process improvement across the businesses from a Product Control perspective. The role will require engagement in both CFO driven-change initiatives as part of the FSI Program, as well as managing process changes in Product Control resulting from enhancements to Front Office capabilities.

THE ROLE INVOLVES:

Change SMEs are expected to demonstrate the application of strong practical project management skills and a deep knowledge of project management and governance methodologies. They are responsible for planning, executing and controlling project initiatives. The required level of knowledge and experience will be over and above that of a typical change person at their level. This will include an awareness of established best practices in this area. As the band levels increase, the role expands to include increased accountability for delivery, strategic perspectives and a broadening of scope to include complex projects, as well as, program oversight.
Change SMEs are expected to work on multiple project streams that are either related, or are under a single program. Their duties are likely to include the following:
• Establish financial business cases and engage in the budgeting process.
• Define scope, develop schedule, ensure resources are available to support project implementation.
• Identify process measures and metrics, as well as, the root causes of defects.
• Recommend, develop and implement process improvements and controls, ensuring clear handover to identified stakeholders.
• Oversee business requirements, project documentation and test case development for solutions/improvements.
• Ensure that delivery occurs on plan, is of high quality and matches expectations through measurable goals.
• Establish and maintain processes for the tracking, escalation and resolution of issues, dependencies and risks.
• Establish and run the project and/or program and/or portfolio governance model.
• Manage project scope change and project acceptance procedures.
• Define, capture and report appropriate project metrics including project financials.
• Oversee post-implementation reviews and share lessons learned to project team.
• Provide expertise and training to the wider project teams on project management, presentation and analysis techniques.
• Continually refine and improve the maturity level of the governance process.
Change SMEs also require highly developed interpersonal and communication skills to instruct, influence and engage colleagues in the adoption of governance standards.
The initial focus for this role will be to act as the lead SME on the implementation of SPARTA for the Rates business globally. SPARTA is the strategic price testing solution for Product Control, and provides trade and curve level price testing impacts for reporting and analysis, based on full revaluation against independently sourced curves. This is a high profile project for the Rates business, and will necessitate considerable interaction with PC Line, PC Valuations, CFO Change, Front Office IT and Product Control IT teams.

TO QUALIFY, YOU MUST POSSESS:

• Honours degree - Finance or Mathematics preferred or equivalent experience
• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent), or CFA
• Line Product Control experience
• Proven track record of successful implementation of high profile projects.
