Charities Finance Manager
A long-standing International Development Charity are looking for an experienced Finance Manager to join their finance team based in North London.
You will be joining a small team, reporting into the Finance Director and managing a Finance Officer and will take full responsibility for Overseas Programmes and Grant Accounting. Other responsibilities include:
- Accurate recording of all project income and expenditure to ensure the availability of up-to-date information for monitoring and evaluation purposes and for reporting to donors. Preparation of such project reports as may be needed by the Programmes team
- Payment of grants to partners according to the budget approved by the Allocations Committee and the timetable set by the Programmes team
- Assist the Director of Finance and Resources in providing technical assistance to partner finance staff, visiting in country partner offices as may be required to assist with partner capacity building
- Prepare monthly management accounts by no later than the 10th working day of each month and working with budget holders, provide commentary on all material variances
- Prepare all year end working papers, assist with the drafting of the annual financial statements and provide assistance to audit staff during the annual audit
- Assist the Director of Finance and Resources with the preparation of the annual income and expenditure budget to reflect the annual business plan, together with the annual cash flow budget
- Constantly seek to improve systems while maintaining overall systems integrity
The successful candidate with be part or fully-qualified in CIMA, ACCA or equivalent from an International Development background and have no less than 5 years experience in an accounting role, responsible for both management and financial accounts. Excellent communication skills are vital as you will be liaising with non-finance and overseas staff.
