Chartered Financial Accountant
Financial Reporting Accountant, 3-6 month initial contract, Banking, Canary Wharf
My client, a leading global bank, requires a Financial Accountant assist with year-end statutory accounting process and continuation of ad-hoc project work. This exciting role is an ongoing contract in their Group Financial Accounting team based in Canary Wharf.
Responsibilities
- To prepare and present financial accounts, reports and other ad-hoc financial information in compliance with IFRS and UK GAAP.
- Assist with the preparation of year-end statutory accounts.
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects around the controls and reporting framework
- To continually identify areas of improvement and drive both improved efficiency and quality of the departments outputs
- To work in conjunction with the rest of the team and other Finance teams to produce best in class internal and external financial reports
- To act as the group review and challenge over the financial reporting processes and numbers to ensure high levels of control are maintained at all times
- Working with off-shore and regional hubs
Requirements
- Formal accounting qualification - Chartered preferred, and degree educated
- Experience of financial accounting and control
- Process improvement or project experience
- Advanced Excel skills
- Banking or financial services experience or exposure (advantageous)
