Chief Development Officer
Catholic Health, ranked a “Best Place to Work” in the Buffalo region
and selected 30th among the nation’s top 100 integrated health
systems by SDI, is the quality leader in WNY. The organization has
an immediate need for Chief Development Officers (CDO) at Sisters
of Charity Hospital, a two-campus hospital, and Mercy Hospital of
Buffalo, home to the Catholic Health Heart Center.
The system has implemented a service line healthcare model in
vascular/cardiac care, neurology and stroke services with three
designated stroke centers and numerous nationally recognized
five-star programs by HealthGrades. It offers acute, subacute,
home care, long term care, and primary care services, along with a
complete line of diagnostic radiology, laboratory, and rehabilitation services.
The Chief Development Officer is responsible for executing, directing
and coordinating activities that increase philanthropic support for their facility.
The CDO will engage the Foundation Board in productive fundraising,
support its governance efforts, and plan an annual philanthropic strategy.
The position will report to the Vice President of Development for Catholic
Health for organizational issues and the Foundation Chairperson for policy.
A Bachelors Degree, fund management, five years work experience
in a non-profit fundraising setting with direct responsibility for a
comprehensive fund development program, and the ability to
work with a corporate support team are required. Excellent
interpersonal, communication, relationship building, and management
skills are a must, along with the ability to work with a volunteer
