Based in Broome WA and reporting directly to the KAMSC Governing Board, the Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Council Inc (KAMSC) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS). KAMSC Inc's functions include both services and support to a collective of five independently incorporated Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services across the Kimberly and the provision of primary health care in a number of clinical services in remote Aboriginal communities. KAMSC Inc also directly provides and supports renal services in the region.

This is a very senior position and we are looking for a person who can demonstrate the ability to work cooperatively with the KAMSC Board and the CEOs of the Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Services as well as provide strong leadership to staff.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
- Responsible for the overall management of KAMSC
- To provide high level policy advice and support to the KAMSC Board and its members
- Negotiate with funding agencies on funding, policy development and advocating the needs of members at a local, regional, state and national level
- To implement the strategic goals and objectives of KAMSC
- With the Chair, enable the Board to fulfill its governance functions
- To give direction and leadership toward the achievement of KAMSC philosophy, mission, strategy and its annual goals and objectives
The key skills required for this role include:
- Extensive high level experience in Senior Management
- Ability to provide strong leadership and work closely with senior staff;
- Experience in strategic planning and implementation;
- Experience in managing an organisation, or Department;
- An understanding and respect for Aboriginal governance;
- Demonstrated experience in a management role in Aboriginal primary health care;
