Chief Financial Officer – Telecommunications – Malaysia recruitment

The business is an industry leader and operator of choice for the Malaysian Information and Communication Technology Industry. With a revenue of RM200 million the business operates across Malaysia, the rest of Asia and parts of Africa.  The company is an emerging subsidiary of a group of companies with a global portfolio of investments spanning across multiple industries. The head office is based in KLCC, Malaysia and currently has operations in South East Asia, Africa, South America and the Caspian Sea region.

Working with senior management you will need to develop, promote and manage existing and future concessions and assets of the Group for commercial exploitation and value enhancement. You will participate in the Group’s corporate exercises where applicable – funding/mergers and acquisition/ divestments, to ensure that all commercial, financial legal, regulatory, technical, and other relevant aspects of any potential investments are considered in terms of risks and expectations.

Managing a team of around 10, you will be responsible for the day to day financial administration and operation ensuring the full spectrum of financial and administrative activities is running effectively and efficiently.

Reporting into group you must develop, recommend and implement plans and objectives in order to meet Group’s objectives in terms of time delivery, schedule, quality and specification, including ensuring the integrity of the Group’s financial reporting, internal controls and management information systems. You must also provide leadership, direct and control all activities to ensure that the delivery of financial strategies for funding, commercialisation and development of the business including the delivery of exploration prospects of the Group’s interests.

The chosen candidate will have significant experience of working within the telecoms, media or satellite solutions sector or another related industry. International experience of working in some of the key geographical areas of South East Asian region is a must as is an in depth/working technical knowledge of common accountancy practices (GAAP, IFRS) and a strong corporate governance back round. This role would suit a candidate that has either been successful in a number one role for a similar sized business or a number 2 role, senior manager’s post in a larger business. (+ RM200Million). Industry and area knowledge is a requirement.
