Accounting Control Manager - Global Treasury EMEA

 

Global Treasury is responsible for the Funding and Liquidity risk management of the organisation worldwide. The EMEA team is centrally managed from London and provides Funding and Liquidity for all UK and Continental Europe entities (Bank and Non Bank).

Activity extends over 20 different legal entities and 50 currencies and markets. The EMEA Treasury framework is rapidly evolving following ongoing market events and regulatory reform.

The Treasury business has many day to day interactions with LOB's and other corporate groups to provide a clear and detailed understanding of Treasury requirements around liquidity and funding risk on any new initiatives.

 

This is an opportunity for an experienced financial controller to join the EMEA Financial Control Team.  The team is responsible for the overall integrity and accuracy of the financial statements and regulatory returns, including substantiation and certification of the balance sheet, adherence to regulatory and financial / accounting standards for Treasury, intercompany breaks and quarterly regulatory submissions.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Financial Control Manager for EMEA Treasury the primary focus for this role will be:

 

·         Oversight of the  Mumbai Accounting Control team.

·         Management of 1 direct report.

·         Monthend Financial Close.

·         Intercompany Breaks and Resolution.

·         Substantiation and Certification of the balance sheet.

·         Revenue and Balance Sheet Analytics – Weekly/Monthly

·         Transfer Pricing Analytics  - Effectiveness of  FTP (Funds Transfer Pricing) Process

·         Input into Adhoc Financial Reporting.

·         Involvement in Projects as required.

Qualifications:

Accounting Knowledge of the following products used by Treasury is an advantage:

 

·         Money Markets Taking and Placings

·         AFS Securities

·         FX Swaps

·         Repos and Reverse Repos.

·         Interest Rate Derivatives

·         Loans

 

Qualifications/Experience

 

·         Strong Accounting background with extensive knowledge of Accounting in relation to Treasury and Investment Banking Products  

·         Product knowledge covering Money Market trades, Securities, FX Products and Interest Rate Derivatives

·         Knowledge of Merit Business Objects XI would be an advantage

·         Knowledge of JPM Financial Reporting and Financial Hierarchy a distinct advantage.
