Chief Risk Officer – Insurance recruitment
This business are market leaders within Marine, Inland Marine, Engineering and Casualty lines and have grown their Re insurance division significantly over the last few years. The successful candidate will report into the Chief Operating Officer with a matrix into the Global Chief Underwriting Officer. You will be well placed in a strategic context and have a genuine opportunity to develop the European risk framework and policies from the outset as well as future staffing needs in the department.
Responsibilities will include :
- Ensuring that Risk frameworks and policies are embedded and maintained throughout the London offices and the wider European division
- Performing wider risk assessments and reviews, whilst ensuring that all necessary controls are in place
- Ensuring that an effective risk reporting tool is in place
- Managing the firm’s Solvency II programme, working in conjunction with the Head of Internal Audit and Head of Compliance to ensure the business are ready for relevant implementation deadlines
- Leading the company ORSA
- Assisting internal and external staff in their comprehension of the potential effects of Solvency and Capital Risks
- Ensuring that Lloyd’s minimum standards for Risk Management are met
- Raising awareness of additional insurance risks that the UK business should be aware of
- Logging all identified risks and suggesting remedial action
- Ensuring Key Risk Indicators are successfully implemented and maintained
Skills Required :
- Strong risk management experience from the insurance industry is essential
- Good communication skills and an ability to deliver risk principles across the wider business
- Professional experience within the Lloyd’s market is preferable however our client will also consider established risk managers from the general insurance and industry
- A good working knowledge of Solvency II and its subsequent management is essential
- Holder of an Insurance Risk Management qualification is preferable (ACII)
- Degree level or equivalent
