Chief Risk Officer,China (base in Shanghai) recruitment

1.Position Purpose 

Lead the development and implementation of best practice frameworks, policies, standards and reports appropriate to the business and regulatory environment of Indonesia to support the strategic business objectives of IFS China within the Group’s approved risk appetite. Work collaboratively with Group Risk Management and IFS HO to achieve optimal outcomes. Foster the development of a prudent risk culture across IFS China. Assist with fostering and maintaining sound relationships with the Indonesian regulators.

2.Work of the Role

 

Internal and External Client / Customer Service 

• Cultivate a proactive engagement model with key stakeholders, namely the IFS China leadership team, the IFS support team, Group Risk Management Head Office and external regulators.

• Develop an appropriate risk governance structure including committee and secretarial functions (charters, meeting schedules, agendas and minutes).

• Develop the IFS China Risk Management team as a “Centre of Excellence”.

Contribution to Business / Profit 

• Optimise risk management to align with risk adjusted performance and growth objectives.

• Implement the Group Operational Risk Compliance Risk Management Frameworks, including appropriate business continuity, fraud security risk management and delegations of authority frameworks, appropriate to the Indonesian context.

• Translate Group risk appetite into appropriate risk-return policies for IFS China.

• Monitor and report on portfolio and risk type performance.

• Identify opportunities and implement strategies for improving risk management policy and process.

• Develop policies and procedures for IFS China staff, including adapting existing Group policies.

• Provide input to CBA Group level reporting.

Leadership / Management

You will be expected to perform the following tasks in a manner consistent with CBA’s leadership capabilities of Customer Focus, Commercial Acumen, Driving Results, Growing Talent and Leading with Vision and Values.

• Apply CBA’s people management systems to effectively manage such issues as occupational health and safety, recruiting and onboarding new staff, coaching and staff development, setting KRA’s and KPI’s, creating development plans, supervising work, providing feedback formally and informally, carrying out disciplinary procedures when necessary, recognising and rewarding staff, etc.

Risk Management / Compliance

• Ensure that you, and any team members under your direct leadership, comply with the Group’s Occupational Health and Safety policy, all other internal Group policies and procedures, and any relevant external legislative requirements.

• Influence and shape the risk management culture to achieve outcomes for business targets that are sustainable into the future within the Group’s risk appetite.

• Develop, execute, monitor and improve operational risk frameworks to meet Group and IFS risk appetites.

General / Other

• Undertake any other tasks assigned that you have the capability to perform safely. 

• Manage team resourcing requirements in order to achieve key objectives of IFS China.

• Manage the resolution of operational risk issues, breaches and incidents.
