We are looking for an experienced Chief Technology Officer APAC to be based in our Sydney IT Team. The CTO role will report into the Chief Information Officer APAC and will have responsibilities for theIT Operational aspects as well as Asia Pacific Networks, Infrastructure and Service Desk functions. The ideal CTO candidate will have a blend of technical expertise as well as previous experience in managing teams across multiple locations.As 2IC to the CIO APAC, the CTO role will also have broader administrative, management and decision making responsibility for the APAC IT function.
In this role your main responsibilities will be to:
- People management - lead a multi-functional regional team of 19, including 7 direct reports
- High availability of Infrastructure and Systems – design, implement and support systems that provide the best possible availability to ABN AMRO Clearing business units for critical applications throughout the Asia Pacific region
- Infrastructure and System management - plan, document and review systems policy, agreements, schedules and strategies within the IT department Asia Pacific to ensure appropriate capacity, availability, and costs for business applications
- Project management - plan, research, document and implement large scale projects within time, budget and resource constraints
- Business Analysis – advise business units on technical design considerations that relate to new or evolving business processes, ensuring that business goals can be achieved within the current environment or advising where modifications will be required
- Systems design - design, build, document and maintain integration / automation software systems and components
- Support and Training - provide guidance, training and mentoring to clients and other members of the IT team Asia Pacific on all systems and software covered by this role
- Research and Advice, Technology Knowledge - remain abreast of general, innovative technology advances and specific system improvements, consider and critically analyse possible opportunities and bring these to the attention of management
Preferred Experience Skills:
- Relevant university degree or equivalent experience, Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum of 10 years post education IT industry experience
- Preferably 3-5 years’ experience in a similar management role within Infrastructure
- At least 3+ years people management experience
- In-depth knowledge of Window, Unix, VMWare, Storage and other operating systems, design and functionality
- Cross platform data integration
- Windows and Unix and VMWare systems administration experience
- LAN and WAN technologies, interconnectivity, networking, routing experience
- Experience with iSeries, ITIL, Prince2
- Good knowledge of the financial securities, derivatives and clearing products and processes
