China – Senior Project Manager (MEP background) recruitment

MIRA has funds established in Europe, the US, Canada, South Africa, Abu Dhabi, India, China, Singapore and Korea. Macquarie derives fee income from the investment vehicles, which it manages.
Specifically in Hong Kong, MIRA manages investment products focused on Greater China covering Real Estate and Infrastructure asset classes. The MIRA China business is growing with a significant amount of new capital available and further products and capital raising programs underway. As of April 2012, MIRA Hong Kong has over US$2 billion in commitments / equity under management.
We are looking for a Senior Project Manager with MEP background who is capable to provide effective technical support for large retail developments in China from acquisition to operation.
Reporting to the CEO and Chief Portfolio Officer, the successful candidate will provide advice on technical issues at various stages of retail project development with aim on effective time, cost and quality management and team coordination. They will also be responsible for delivering and managing service excellence in project management solutions and leading the Project Manager, consultants and other team members, motivating them towards excellence project delivery.
Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:
- Provide technical support to the Team and appoint/manage multi-disciplinary project teams in delivering large sized retail projects in China.
- Manage professional assignments in acquisition, design and construction, completion and handover and tenant fit out stages or live operating business environments including tenant liaison.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to manage related issues on the various disciplinary in retail projects development and operation.
- Liaise with team members on project briefing.
- Lead, coach and develop team members to deliver service excellence.
- Work with team members to 'plan, do review' project activity associated with the supply chain in regards to develop project brief, programme, cost control, consultant and contractors' appointment and performance evaluation, tendering, safety quality control and recommending/implementing corrective action.
- Deliver the agreed scope of works (inclusive of contract administration) including the leadership and management of various meetings.
- Deliver projects with the framework of risk, sustainability and environmental considerations while maintaining focus on time, cost and quality management.
- Provide MEP support to team members and assistance on the team management.
- Produce MEP options with cost and benefit analysis.
- Assist CPO to select and recommend consultants and contractors.
- Review the designs and technical specification with development team and Asset Managers to propose the alternative solutions with achievement of the operation expenditure optimization, environmental protection and sustainability.
- Monitor the consultant and contractor activities and implement corrective action as necessary.
Relevant Experience:
- 8 years working experience in design and installation of building services and ME installations for large scale development project and interior fitting-out projects (retail mall experience an advantage).
- Experience in working with end users and tenants.
- Successful track record in managing design development on Fitting out Projects.
- Successful track record in managing site activities.
- Excellent and demonstrable team leadership skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to write concise strategic reports.
- Fluent in English and Chinese in both written and spoken (Putonghua).
