Equity Exotics and
Hybrids BusinessThe Equity Exotics Hybrids Business is one of the most dynamic and complex business lines within the JP Morgan franchise. With an ever growing range of product types tailored to meet the requirements of specific investors, the area provides a stimulating challenge for employees with an interest in financial engineering and their place in the current financial markets.
The focus of the Equity Exotics Finance Group is one of guardian to the bank and business partner to allow the increase of volumes and revenues to continue unhindered growth in a controlled environment. The area performs the Daily Profit and Loss reporting, including Greek PL Analysis and disclosure in the firm's General Ledger system.
The group is required to understand the fundamentals of the underlying instruments and business strategy and to continually improve and amend our processes and control infrastructure to stay aligned and relevant to business environment.
The Team and the candidateWe are seeking to hire an experienced Product Controller in the Equity Exotics Finance Team. The business is split into 4 areas - Index, Single Stock, Proxy Hedge Funds. Each of these stripes trade Equity Derivatives per product class. The Equity Exotics Finance team is approximately 10 members. We are looking for technically orientated candidates who are driven by their desire to get exposure to and a deep understanding of Hybrid products and trade structures. The individual will be required to have excellent communication skills. They will be required to work on multiple deliverables to strict deadlines. This will require the individual to be able to effectively liaise with other team members, other departments and to individuals at all levels.
Key responsibilities
As a Product Controller your responsibilities will include running and analyzing the mark to market of the portfolio, daily risk and P/L reporting , PL Substantiation, attribution and residual analysis. In this role you will also face off to a wide variety of areas, aside from directly to the traders, Trading desk assistants, business control teams and senior Finance management. The role will require front to back view of control agenda and substantiation of exceptions between Balance sheet / GL and Front Office systems. You will have oversight of monthend reconciliations performed by Financial Control hub, and production of weekly/monthly MIS reporting for senior management.
You will be responsible for adding continuous improvements to the process and infrastructure. You must thrive on task completion, exception resolution and enjoy being constantly challenged.
The individual would need to have excellent technical and problem solving skills in order to identify, understand and address varied issues as part of the day to day process.

Qualifications
