SAIC is looking for a Mobile Computing/Citrix Engineer in Washington DC. Description of Duties: This position is located in the Department of State (DoS), Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM), Messaging Systems Office (MSO), Email (EML) Mobile Computing (MC) and provides engineering resource support for EML/MC services DoS and Foreign Affairs community. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - performs onsite (NOTE: support may also be provided remotely) Tier 3 technical support for Microsoft Server 2003/2008 R2, BES, Citrix XenApp 6, Citrix XenDesktop 5, VMware ESX 4.1, VPNs, firewall/proxy, enterprise networks, and Active Directory integration - supports Citrix XenApp 6 servers and application technology infrastructure, design, implementation, management, maintenance, and troubleshooting - respond to Tier 3 escalations through Remedy for Citrix XenApp, Citrix XenDesktop, Citrix NetScaler, Juniper SA, and Mobile Computing per resource engineering groups and assignments - perform Microsoft Server 2008 R2 and Server 2003 builds, application installations, configurations, Group Policy and Active Directory policy creations - develop monitoring rules and application solutions for operation teams - perform system maintenance, and trouble shooting, traffic and performance analysis per resource engineering group and assignment - add or modify web server infrastructure with scripts, programmatic enhancements and upgrades - design and document new and existing infrastructure changes - work in conjunction with the quality assurance team to create and maintain all system build guides, technical drawings and schematics, and test plans - perform research, development, and testing in a lab environment prior to transitioning a product to production environment - assist with configuration of similar production and lab environments and notify lab management when production system changes - execute engineering and operational plans and revise as appropriate - communicate the status of all projects to client, senior technical engineering lead, or project manager Qualifications: Clearance Requirements: Secret (with ability to obtain Top Secret) Education and Experience Requirements: BS degree (or equivalent years of experience) in the field of computer science, business administration, or similar discipline or 4+ years of related experience as an engineer and 8+ years of related experience. Current experience with the following technology applications is highly desired: Microsoft Server 2003/2008 R2, Microsoft SCOM/SCCM, BES 5.0+, AD/Exchange integration, Citrix XenApp 6, Citrix XenDesktop 5, VMware ESX 4.1, Citrix NetScaler, VPNs, firewall/proxy, Apple Mobile Device technologies. Required Certifications: MCSE and/or MCITP, ITIL Service Manager, CISSP, CCNA/CCIE, CISSP, etc. are a plus. Comments: Prior experience working within the Department of State IRM bureau will be considered as a significant plus. Candidates must be willing to: travel within the Washington DC Metro area to support various program initiatives; support a rotational on-call posture after normal working hours in response to technical support requests; and travel within and outside the continental United States, if required (not to exceed 10%).
