Claims Analyst - Disability Insurance About the Job Job Description: Individual Disability Claims Examiner We are currently working with a large and top rated insurance company who has an immediate opening in the Disability/Long Term Care Claims Department. We are searching for candidates who have at least 5-8+ years handling Individual Disability or Long Term Care Claims. This person will join the team as a subject matter expert in Disability or Long Term Care claims. You will be a part of a world class claims team and will have the opportunity to get involved with and leading claims audits, webinars, on site presentations and report writing. In addition this person will adjudicate claims, working with legal and underwriting to help make claims recommendations, develop claims best practices, serve on the claims committee and project teams, make payments and assist with the training for less experienced members of the Disability claims team. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written are also highly desired. Position requirements, In order to be considered for this position you will need: - At least 5-8 years Individual Disability or LTC Claims experience - Strong analytical and technical skills are a must - Prefer at least some large dollar claims background - Strong understanding of the Disability or LTC insurance industry - Excellent communication skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Ability to do some light travel - Ability to coach and train less experienced claims reps This position has a great opportunity to progress and advance within the department, so we are also looking for candidates who are eager to advance their career in claims and willing to put in the work necessary to achieve that success. College degree is preferred but not a requirement. We would also like to find individuals who have industry education credentials such as FLMI, ALHC, ICA, etc. Relocation: Our client is willing to offer relocation benefits to the selected candidate. Compensation: Pay depends on experience, but the range for this position is 75-90k base salary plus company bonus. Bonus target for this position is 8-10% depending on individual and company performance.
