CLAIMS SERVICE ADJUSTER
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Opens claims and obtains required information from insured, claimant, and other involved parties
- Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and settles auto damage claims
- Adjusts to conclusion low complexity claims without injury exposures
- Prepares and handles subrogation demands on non-disputed liability claims
- Explains policy language, provides coverage information and advises insured as to proper course of action (follow-up, status calls, touch base with the customer)
- Investigates, recognizes higher exposures and assigns claims above settlement authority to higher level of expertise
- Complies with all Department of Insurance regulations (multiple states) and statutory requirements; correspondence: forms and liability time frame, payments
- Working in the Auto Glass Unit
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate effectively over the telephone using active listening skills
- Good decision making, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation and organizational skills
- Basic math and computer skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to function in a team and claims center environment
- Good command of the English language
- Ability to type 30 wpm
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to attend training classes and meetings
- Some travel may be required
- May require Adjuster's license-state specific
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma
- 1 year of customer service
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 year college degree or 1 - 2 years claims or insurance experience
- 2 - 3 years customer service experience
- Bilingual a plus
