Class 3Q Driver
Manpower, together with our client, an Alberta-based general contractor specializing in heavy civil construction, is currently seeking Class 3Q Drivers to aid service and highway maintenance operations in Calgary, AB.
This client's Albertan portfolio dates back over 30 years, and has grown from a small municipal road contractor to a multi-faceted general civil construction/highway service organization handling all aspects of civil work. The size and scope of their projects varies from small asphalt repairs to multi-million dollar contracts with parallel degrees of complexity.
This particular role our client is offering aids the highway maintenance aspect of their business by:
- Plowing, grating, and smoothing graded terrain
- Transporting materials on- and off-site
- Overseeing and troubleshooting safety concerns
- Regularly reporting progress, maintenance, and general operations to site manager
Key Requirements:
- Class 3Q License (abstract required; fewer than 3 demerit points)
- Ability to pass clean drug/alcohol test
- Ability to lift 80 lbs. unassisted (due to changing of plow blades when required)
- Own transportation (transit not available)
- Ability to work 24/7 on an on-call basis (may be required on overnights for snowfall season)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with automatic and manual transmissions up to 18 speed
- Gravel truck experience
- On-call availability
