Bank of China (UK) Limited commenced business in October 2007, as a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of China Limited, having offices in the City of London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow and London Chinatown, offering a full range of personal and corporate banking products and services.

Bank of China established the first overseas Chinese financial institution in London in 1929. Since then Bank of China in London has continued to expand steadily over the years, earning a good reputation and becoming an important member of the city’s banking community.

We currently have the following two opportunities in the Manchester Branch:

Clerk - Customer Services (2 roles)

Job purpose

To assist Customer Services Section to deliver effective and efficient customer services and be responsible for customer care and to assist in marketing and deliver sales of products and services offered by the Bank whilst also undertaking day to day operational tasks to assist the Branch in achieving all targets and objectives.

Main responsibilities

Open Counter

• Provide customer services, opening and closing accounts, handling customer’s enquiry, dealing with customer’s complaints

• Process cash free transactions which including Outward Remittance, Cheques Paid in, CIF AIF Maintenance, Internal Transfer, Foreign Exchange, card services, Internet banking etc.

Close Counter

• Assisting to ensure efficient customer services provided at close counter

• Dealing with hazard free cash and online transactions which including Deposit, Withdraw, Outward Remittance, Cheques Paid in, Internal Transfer, Foreign Exchange, etc.

• To undertake any other works delegated by Branch Management when needed

Who we are looking for

Experienced cashier or someone with banking experience, having knowledge of UK financial rules and regulations, experience of customer services in similar business stream within the financial services industry required.

Chinese language skills (both Cantonese and Mandarin are desirable) are required.
