Client Reporting Manager, Institutional & Private Client

The Client Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring the successful and accurate production of end-client reports on a daily, monthly and quarterly basis for the team’s investment management clients.  

The successful candidate should posses a proven in-depth understanding of end-client reporting for both institutional and ultra-high-net worth clients in the investment management industry.  He or she must demonstrate strong client service skills to meet or exceed the needs of SEI and our clients.
This individual must also train and supervise client reporting supervisors, specialists and analysts and strictly enforce the departmental policies and procedures required to service investment managers.
Primary responsibilities include monitoring, validation and analysis of client reporting data within SEI’s investment accounting, performance measurement, trade settlement, end-client billing and data warehouse applications, problem-solving by researching activity and interacting with a variety of clients, custodians and system vendors, developing and documenting client reporting workflows and procedures, and gathering and managing client requirements for standard and customized client reporting.
The position requires the ability to work in a very fast-paced environment while meeting all daily, monthly and quarterly deadlines; excellent communication and computer skills.  The ideal candidate will have experience in the investment management industry dealing with multiple asset classes, including a wide array of derivative instruments, in a global environment.  Experience with the Advent suite of software products is a plus.

Responsibilities
• Monitor client-directed service-level agreements as they pertain to end-client reporting
• Serve as main daily client reporting contact for all middle office clients
• Communicate clearly and concisely in a timely fashion to clients, management and other team members
• Ensure quality and accuracy of daily, monthly and quarterly end-client reports, as well as those for specific periods
• Ensure all established daily client reporting processing, procedures and controls are completed accurately and timely; where possible, exceed deadlines
• Develop, create and document client implementation and operational day-to-day policies and, workflows and procedures
• Train and supervise supervisors, specialists and analysts on systems, processing, procedures and job responsibilities
• Review and approve daily work performed by client reporting supervisors, specialists and analysts
• Review, approve and assist with preparation of month-end valuation
• Conduct problem and error resolution on a timely basis (with documentation)
• Coordinate activities (enhancements / fixes etc.) with internal technical support, quality assurance and product teams as well as outside vendors and service providers (e.g., Advent Software, etc.)
• Ensure adequate testing of and preparation for all technology upgrades
• Understand all technical issues associated with end-client reporting in the investment management industry
• Recommend and implement technology solutions for more accurate, effective and efficient calculation and reporting of data for institutional and ultra-high-net-worth clients
• Participate in client calls and staff meetings
• Maintain a good working relationship with external clients as well as with internal relationship and account managers
• Partner with solution design and technology teams on build-out of operational platform
• Provide leadership to the assigned operational team members as well as other core middle-office team members; this includes (but is not limited to) training and coaching on general investment management topics, investment accounting, client reporting and general management skills
• Design and implement an on-going enhancement of operational risk management metrics and measurements
• Provide sales support for SEI’s core middle-office service offering
• Contribute to SEI’s Knowledge Partnership on client reporting topics
• Represent SEI in industry groups dealing with client reporting-related issues
• Evaluate, write and discuss employees’ performance appraisals

Position Requirements

• BS/BA degree in accounting or related field
• 5+ years end-user client reporting experience including experience with alternatives and experience with multi-currency reporting; performance measurement experience a plus
• 3+ years of supervisory or management experience
• Thorough knowledge of investment accounting and client reporting in a multi-currency environment
• Prior experience with multi-lingual reporting is a plus
• Demonstrate the ability to allocate time and resources appropriately to complete projects and meet deadlines
• Understand clients business model and sensitivities
• Ability to take control of situations and personnel to ensure all objectives and deadlines are met to the clients’ satisfaction

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment may require an individual to move around the office and from building to building which may expose the individual to weather conditions outside.  The individual has to be able to sit or be stationary at a computer and use computers for extended periods of time and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.  The noise level in the environment is moderate and the individual must be able to communicate and exchange information with people in person and over the telephone and email.
