Position Description

Morgan Stanley Alternative Investment Partners ("AIP") manages approximately $29 billion in assets under management and advisement as of December 31, 2012 across its portfolios and is positioned to provide clients with a full range of alternatives solutions. AIP provides innovative alternative investment solutions across hedge funds, private equity, real estate and diversified alternatives through comingled funds and separate accounts.
Position Description
As a member of the AIP team, the individual in this position will serve as a member of the client service team supporting the private equity group. The client service team is responsible for, among other things, the preparation of quarterly investor letters and conference call materials, conducting investor portfolio reviews, the organization of client events, including the annual investor webcast, communication with investors about reporting and capital calls/distributions and the timely response to all inbound investor inquiries. This position is located in West Conshohocken, PA (Suburban Philadelphia).
Responsibilities
• Support the private equity client service function.
• Assist with the creation of quarterly client letters for all private equity fund of funds products and separate accounts. This includes compiling underlying data from multiple data sources using Word, Excel, Documentum and AIP's proprietary on-line private equity data portal.
• Create investor portfolio review materials.
• Assist in the planning and execution of AIP's annual investor webcast and other client events.
• Work with the Operations and the Information Technology teams to create and distribute custom quarterly reports for clients and to respond to data requests from clients and consultants.
• Contribute to the ongoing project to automate client reporting and make the process more efficient.
• Create and deliver customized materials responding to requests from clients and consultants.
• Respond to emails and calls from institutional investors, consultants, high net worth investors and financial advisors with questions about our fund of funds products and separate accounts.
• Facilitate communications and processes regarding clients between AIP and Morgan Stanley Investment Management ("MSIM") Marketing, MSIM Sales, Morgan Stanley Wealth Management and other divisions of Morgan Stanley, including the Operations, Information Technology, Legal, Design and Tax groups.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

• MBA degree or equivalent.
• Knowledge of/experience in alternative investments, especially private equity or real estate investments, a plus.
• A minimum four to six years related industry experience.
• Excellent quantitative, written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact effectively with business development contacts, prospects, consultants and clients.
• Highly detail oriented with a strong ability to manage and execute simultaneous projects and tasks without reminders.
• Flexible attitude with the willingness to expand, create and institute new business projects and ideas at the direction of the team.
• Exceptionally self-motivated, with a high level of initiative and the resourcefulness to efficiently and effectively problem solve.
• Strong knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Current Licensing: Series 7 and 63 or ability to obtain such licensing within 4 months of hire.
