Description:
RBS Client Valuations Team have several offices in Singapore, London, Manchester and New York in which the teams work closely together in providing a dedicated and independent valuations services to clients across all products traded in the MIB business across all asset classes in order to enhance transparency, reduce risk and improve operational efficiency.
Our client base includes the most significant institutional participants in the financial marketplace.
- The individual will be required to establish close working relationships, at all levels, with external customers, Front Office and Support Staff to ensure that all key customers of RBS MIB receive a consistently high level of service in terms of the provision of Client Valuations.
- This individual will be reporting to a Supervisor and will be exposed to a variety of products. Including but not limited to FX, FX options, interest rate derivatives, equity derivatives, structured MTN issues, fixed income securities and structured credit transactions.
- Be a central point of contact for external clients on valuations and responding / resolving their queries / disputes in a timely and professional manner and having to build strong working relationships with various front and back offices departments globally
- Offer a basic service standard for all clients and a differentiated service for gold clients / sensitive clients.
- Ability to ask probing questions to gather information and resolve issues and where appropriate, able to argue own position and reach a consensus in the light of differing views
- Participate in running and to produce accurate daily valuation statements within tight timescales
- Participate in reviews of sources of valuations ensuring confidence in data and model used.
- Participate in the review and update of processes and policy of the valuations team
- Involvement in UAT for system enhancement
- Refining, automating data capture and cleaning processes in support of the global valuation business.
- Ensuring processes and procedures are complied with relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Candidate would be required to work shift (APAC shift ; Mid shift -12noon to 9pm) in order to support our clients globally .
- The ability to learn and operate a variety of systems is required to enable accurate and appropriate information to be supplied.

Financial Management
- Look at ways to continually improve the efficiency of the process and exploit opportunities to create STP.
Experience
Essential:
- Strong product knowledge in a least one-product area with proven ability to understand other product areas
Desirable:
- Experience in Middle Office/Trader Support or customer facing role
Qualifications
Essential:
- A university degree in Finance or equivalent
Desirable:
- Previous experience in Middle office / trade support or customer facing roles. IAQ or Similar
Technical Competence
Essential:
- Detailed knowledge of the front to back process in an investment banking environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple product systems.
- Proven problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Desirable:
- Detailed knowledge about the market practice of Client Valuations.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products
