Position Description:

Provides nursing care for adult and older adult radiation oncology outpatients. Utilizes the nursing process in the care and management of these patients to include assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, care planning intervention, and evaluation. Collaborates with other cancer care team members such as Social Services, Clinical Dietetics, Spiritual Care and Psychology to comprehensively address the complex needs of the cancer patient. Provides nursing support to radiation oncologists. Schedules and assists with High Dose Rate Radiation procedures.

Qualifications:

Must possess a level of analytical skills necessary to determine need for special physical assessments, to develop individual nursing care plans, to evaluate nursing care effectiveness and to resolve nursing care problems. Must possess level of interpersonal skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients/ families, hospital staff and personnel, and be able to provide work direction and guidance to nursing technical and professional staff.
Bachelors degree in Nursing.
Current State of Wisconsin license in Nursing
OCN certification preferred.
Oncology nursing experience required.
Must be willing to cover radiation oncology departments at Elmbrook Memorial Hospital, Sherman Cancer Center(St. Joseph) and Reiman Cancer Center as needed.
