Clinical Educator

Heritage seeks a dynamic person for the position of Clinical Educator - Analyst.  Ideal candidate should possess strong training abilities, people skills, a strong work ethic, previous Healthcare experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for education, implementation, maintenance and ongoing support for Clinical Information Applications (McKesson, SHP, OASIS NP, and Silver Chair software applications and others as applicable). 

 

JOB DUTIES

1. Development and coordination of agency training program for Clinical Information Applications.
1.1. Create training schedules, locations and equipment needs to meet training requirements.
1.2. Maintains accurate attendance and competency records for training sessions
1.3. Development and maintenance of written training content for Clinical Information Applications.
1.4. Development and maintenance of Online Education for clinical software usage.
2. Responsibility for daily operational support for functionality of Clinical Information Applications.
3. Development and maintenance of clinical library and implementation of e-learning system for staff education
4. Resolution of daily Data Collisions.
5. Process audits to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and internal processes and report results to management as designated.
6. Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for Clinical Information Applications.
7. Annual review of Standard Operating Procedures with appropriate staff to ensure accuracy for Clinical Information Applications and internal processes.
8. Identify need for Clinical-Business Application Reports; liaison with Data Analyst for development of reports.
9. Develop and provide education for scheduled management reporting.
10. Participate as a key member of test team for software changes and review results prior to implementation updates for Clinical Information Applications.  
11. Analysis and problem solving of process errors for Clinical Information Applications.  
12. Participate in activities to maintain most current knowledge of Clinical Information Applications. 
13. Maintain Data Integrity with software revisions, additions and deletions as indicated for Clinical Information Applications.  
14. Assists IT department in the set up and trouble shooting of laptop hardware/software equipment as needed
15. Identification and resolution of process issues which have financial and clinical impact.
16. Work closely with branch offices for coordination of educational activities
17. Plan and conduct a variety of in-service, orientation and educational programs.

Education:
College degree in adult education, computer information systems or healthcare.
 
Experience: 
1. RN, PT, OT, ST; preferably with home healthcare experience.
2. Computer experience; preferably with the Horizon Homecare system.
3. Demonstrated competency with healthcare education.
 
Licensure/Certification: 
Unencumbered professional license, OASIS certification (COS-C) preferred or willingness to attain certification within one year of hire.

Other Qualifications: 
1. Strong customer service skills.
2. Knowledge of standard operating procedures.
3. Working knowledge of computer software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Intranet and Powerpoint.
4. Ability to communicate with various size and diverse groups.
5. Organized and able to muti-task.
6. High level of attention to detail.
7. Ability to stand for extended periods of time during training sessions.
8. Ability to travel, as needed.
